Penerapan Discovery Learning Untuk Meningkatkan Hasil Belajar Bahasa Inggris

Abstract
This study aims to improve students’ English learning outcomes through the application of discovery learning models in class XII MIA SMA Negeri 1 Syamtalira Aron 2022/2020 school year. This research was conducted in the first semester (odd). The time of this research is from July to September 2022 starting from planning, conducting research and making reports. The subjects of this study were students of class XII MIA 4, SMA Negeri 1 Syamtalira Aron, totaling 30 students in the 2022/2020 school year. The procedure of this study uses a classroom action research design conducted in two cycles. Data collection techniques used in this study were through observation of teacher activities carrying out learning, observation of student activities in learning and tests of student learning outcomes. The data analysis technique used is descriptive qualitative with percentage calculations. The results showed in the first cycle the percentage of classical completeness student learning outcomes by 70% while in the second cycle by 100%, an increase of 30%. Teachers carrying out learning activities in the first cycle of 66,7% while in the second cycle of 91,7%, an increase of 25%. Student activity in learning in cycle I was 58,8% while in cycle II it was 92,1%, an increase of 33,3%. So it can be concluded that the application of discovery learning learning model can improve English learning outcomes of students of class XII MIA SMA Negeri 1 Syamtalira Aron 2022/2020 school year.
